Graduate Certificate in Violence and Injury: Prevention and Intervention

The Graduate Certificate in Violence and Injury is for students, professionals and service providers who seek specialization in Violence and Injury but do not necessarily want to complete a Master of Public Health program. The certificate is a 13-15 credit hour course of study, and the Center is in the process of making the courses for this certificate available online.

Continuing Education

Domestic Violence and Mediation: the Basics and Beyond

Through this four hour online training, mediators and health professionals will be able to meet continuing education credits. The comprehensive content includes types of family violence, prevalence, risk factors, causes, consequences, as well as information on abusers, victims and interventions. It is available through the University of South Florida’s Department of Continuing Professional Education at http://www.cme.hsc.usf.edu/online/dvmediation

Domestic Violence and Healthcare: the Basics and Beyond

This four hour on-line course qualifies for continuing education credits for physicians, nurses, and all mental health professionals. Dr. Coulter reviews the basics of domestic violence and then discusses practical issues facing the healthcare professional when domestic violence may be present. This is also available through the University of South Florida’s Department of Continuing Professional Education at http://www.cme.hsc.usf.edu/online/dvhealth
